Have
Pizza, Will Travel: Although many residents of the North fled their
homes, many had no option but to stay put. “It is these people, confined
to their bomb shelters, who need the most help,” declared Rabbi Joel Zeff,
director of the OTS Max and Gianna Glassman Center for Humanity. Zeff
has been traveling throughout the north, distributing toys and games for the
children and special deliveries of pizza for shelter inhabitants and
soldiers on duty. “The Center for Humanity is obviously concerned with
humanitarian issues,” he explained. “We view this as an act of tikkun
olam in its most basic sense.”

A
special benefit performance of the acclaimed Gesher Theater production of
“Momik” raised funds for the Poland Scholarship Fund, which helps OTS
ensure that no high school student is denied participation in the formative
class heritage trip for lack of financial resources. At the event, OTS also
paid tribute to a number of outstanding faculty members and staff. Pictured:

Roy Stern, Chairman of the Board, in recognition of the “incredible
efficiency, always-pleasant disposition and endless devotion which she
brings to her job.”
