Neveh Shmuel residential high school provides an outstanding religious and general education for young men while preparing them for the challenges of the army and leadership in Israeli society. The curriculum at the yeshiva is a true synthesis of the secular and religious realms, including 60 hours a week devoted to the Bible, Talmud, Jewish law and philosophy, the sciences, mathematics, computers, literature and languages. Students volunteer one day each week to work helping the aged, disabled or disadvantaged. The high staff-to-student ratio at Neveh Shmuel fosters personal relationships between students and their teachers.
A high percentage of graduates opt for service in elite combat units in the
Israel Defense Forces.
One of the unique aspects of the Neveh Shmuel curriculum is that studies are inter-disciplinary, fully integrating Torah studies
with secular studies. For example, students studying Tractate Shabbat learn more than the Talmudic texts; they also explore the way Shabbat may be observed despite the many obstacles in a modern day society, e.g. the status quo in Israel, the
halachic considerations involved in milking cows on Shabbat, and similar subjects.
